Diamond was an active member of the Revolutionary Workers League for five years, resigning in 1980 due to the decision of the Political Committee to not include gay and lesbian issues in their upcoming conference and, more generally, their decision not to centre women’s liberation in their turn towards the trade union movement. She subsequently shifted her focus towards the feminist collectives Bread and Roses and Lesbians Against the Right.
The Sara Diamond fonds contains a number of documents, publications and correspondence among members of the Revolutionary Marxist Group and its later incarnation, the Revolutionary Workers League, dating from the 1970s.
