VIVO Media Arts Centre Archive > Meg Torwl Best Last Day
What Remains: Meg Torwl

I am having the best last day

Either the best day

Or the last day before I know

This involves just ripe papaya

Sitting on the morning grass

Meditating

A swim in the lagoon

With the little fishes

Orange with black stripes

White with yellow spots

Leaning against hot black volcanic rocks

In the shade of a tree

My feet in the water

Feeling the tide come in

Being on the edge of time

Feeling the movement

of the whole ocean

The pull of the planets

Watching the waves break on the reef

The distant blue horizon

Surrounding me in a half circle

A nap in the heat of the day

Naked in the red sheets

Sensuality, wet, hot, powerful

A small walk

Fresh cooked food

Ginger, tofu, greens,

Eating on the shore

Under a tree reaching into the ocean

The crabs sidling by

A long shower

A moment to sit

In the evening

With a curled ginger cat

A phone call

The best

The last

The best last day.                 2005
